Coffee Recall 2023

Starbucks Recalls Vanilla Frappuccinos Due to Glass Contamination

Subheadline

PepsiCo, the distributor of Starbucks chilled bottled coffee drinks, has issued a recall of over 300,000 bottles of Starbucks Vanilla Frappuccinos due to the potential presence of glass fragments.

Details of the Recall

The recall affects 13-ounce glass bottles of Starbucks Vanilla Frappuccino with a "best by" date of March 8, 2023, or later. The affected products were distributed in the United States and may have been sold at retail stores nationwide. Consumers are urged to check their refrigerators for the affected products and dispose of them immediately.

Reason for the Recall

The recall was initiated after glass fragments were discovered inside some of the bottled Frappuccinos. Ingesting glass can pose a serious health risk, causing cuts or lacerations to the mouth, throat, or digestive tract.

Consumer Advisory

Consumers who have purchased the affected Starbucks Vanilla Frappuccino bottles are advised to dispose of them immediately. They should not consume the drink or handle the glass fragments. Consumers who have consumed any of the recalled product and experience any health issues should contact their healthcare provider immediately.

Additional Information

The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). PepsiCo is working with retailers to remove the affected products from store shelves. Consumers with questions or concerns can contact PepsiCo's consumer relations department at 1-800-211-8307.
